I am a biologist with keen interest in art and photography. Art for me is when subconscious emerges and presents itself as a shape, color, composition, light and a sense of harmony.
I search for a personal art insight through “re-living” (through my own process) art creations of past masters – what was Mondrian thinking when creating spaces of primary colors? How did Rothko deconstruct the world in transparent color fields with such richness of emotional layers? A sublime merge of their subconscious worlds with mine, trying to interpret theirs. This insight, regardless of results it produces, is what matters to me. I like to deconstruct figurative images in abstractions and think how they stimulate emotional ‘mind’.
I typically don’t plan my paintings – I allow them to happen- I stop when I sense a harmony (between my inner world and its materialized artistic counterpart).
Camera lens helps me view the surroundings with a different perspective. I particularly like ‘travel’ photography, snapshots of local, yet universal, realities. I am particularly fond of abstract expression and minimalism; and this esthetics also has found way into some of my photographs.
