‘Art Garden’

Collective multimedia project

I have been quiet for a while. Not idling though – seeking local gardens and gardening in my own.

A new collective studio project emerged ‘grass roots’ from these garden rambles. A proverbial ‘Art Garden’.

The appreciation of a ‘garden’ comes with the age of maturity. The ancient symbol of Eden, a temptation. A life inspiration

A garden is always a series of losses set against a few triumphs, like life itself. –May Sarton (2014). “At Seventy: A Journal”

I like gardening. It’s a place where I find myself when I need to lose myself. – Alice Sebold “Above and beyond”.

There are always flowers for those who want to see them. – Henri Matisse (1992).

Garden is an art inspiration…and a perfect ‘host’ for art..

I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers. – Claude Monet (1975).

The garden is an art in itself.

‘We can analyze the composition of a garden’s design like we study a painting’. Gardens as Art: Principles and Elements for Better Designs | Lurie Garden

The subject is huge…I can’t stop researching books and articles about garden designs, styles, meanings…

A couple of famous garden paintings are our inspirations to initiate this project.

My garden is my most beautiful masterpiece‘ – Claude Monet

Our project is about planting, nurturing and growing our own unique ‘Art Garden’, a symbiotic organic eco-system of artistic personas, companionship and joy, withstanding elements and rejuvenating, like a garden. We will explore gardens as an environment that integrates natural, artistic, structural and decorative elements in designs and meanings, public and personal, in a series of ‘Four Garden Rambles‘.

Then, we will build our collective ‘Art Garden‘ – from individual ‘flower planting’ to a blissful garden design – using alcohol inks, vibrant, bright and unexpected as only summer can be. Individual flowers do not make a garden – we will all become ‘plants’ – personal, finicky, fragrant, bold – that join together to become a garden – our garden will be an artistic surprise!
