L’art de vivre

Travel, wine, photography…and art

This is a second, ‘French edition’ of my earlier post inspired by our fall workshop.  There, I mused about the beauty of the autumn, and my yearly travels to Quebec’s Eastern Townships to enjoy its bounty, its nature and ‘l’art de vivre’ that emanates from its unique culture.

This fall in Eastern Townships we made our regular visit to the Abbaye to stock up on cheeses, apple cider and cranberry chocolates made by silent monks, made a tour of wineries and had a rest in a remote auberge deep east. Our wine acquisitions included reds from the series: L’Amour – Toujours...and, art-in-mind, sparkling Muse.

Tour of Sherbrooke’s murals and Orford’s music and art centre, quick shopping at the home decor store (coincidentally, named L’art de Vivre).

A short pause in life burdened by ‘everyday’ to enjoy connection to artisans, an honesty of traditional living that savors riches of the ‘terroir’.
