Fashion photography and jewelry
When I was young, I had a personal seamstress. I had a vivid idea of an image I wanted to project – that of an unconventional young woman – Annie Lennox cropped (blond) hair contrasted with dresses and shoes from a Merlin Monroe era…it suited me well and was a hit with the nerdy audience of a multidisciplinary art ‘bend’ I belonged to.
I would draw sketches of these outfits for my seamstress, making her baffled and challenged. On some occasions, I made them by myself (thanks to grandmothers’ lessons in sawing).
Fashion is a multifaceted art of creating a staged ‘image’ – of personality, lifestyle, emotion, unison (or contrast) with the surroundings… It is hard to imagine fashion existing without the art of photography…
Yet, behind the projected glamour and illusion, lies a whole different world… We are going to get a glimpse of this world ‘behind the scenes’ in the presentation by Andre and Maria…
But before we go there, I have to say, I love fashion – browsing through magazines, watching fashion shows, doodling retro outfits…At this stage of my life, I am confined to prevailing professional and comfort clothes while daydreaming of something more radical. Jewelry is my escape from the ‘boredom of the day’ – a hand-made artistic detail that creates a hint of an ‘image’…even more enjoyed when made by my artistic friends whose imagination and creativity is endless… just watch below, their pieces are so much more then fashionable…
