BrainArt – June 24th

We were just about to wrap-up our Friday group ‘seance’ (as Hung calls it), when Aman magically appears on the Zoom screen, fresh with the announcement of results from the BrainArt competition. We had another unplanned, nail-bitting presentation that was a cause of a much subsequent celebration!

You guess, our submissions were up there among the winners.

The theme of this year’s competition was ‘Big data and me’ – somewhat tense and challenging relationship between the constantly changing world of the omnipresent technology, information overload, artificial intelligence, our genetic codes sequenced in a glimpse – and us, unique individuals with our deeply intimate realities. There were 70 submissions tackling this challenge in an incredibly creative and ingenuous artwork.

Marzia -Tristan collaboration ‘Nothingness as State of Mind‘ was tied in the second place in the category ‘Pictures to prose’.

Dana’s ‘Who am I‘ was one of two winners in the category ‘Short video’, and tied in the second place by a popular vote (over 300 voters).

What an incredible way to expand brain science into a vivid artistic commentary on today’s world and our individual place in it, on brain and mental health, communication and healing through the art. Thank you OHBM!
