Artwork Portfolio
I am a neuroscientist – yet I know the brain best through my art…
I received recognition at several group exhibitions in Belgrade for my early oil paintings founded in philosophy and symbolism…but, that was ages ago.
Settling in Canada, I painted along, time permitting. Many of my paintings are in private collections of colleagues and friends. Covid, unexpectedly, brought clarity – art became a focus, a force, a hunger.
I work with different media to create abstract or figurative work at the interface of arts and sciences, often ‘story telling’, diving into self- perception and connections with material and spiritual.
In 2020, I formed an Art in Mind studio, a group of ‘Left brain artists’, Since then, we executed complex multi-dimensional art projects, two of which were invited to exhibit at the Brain Art Exhibition of the International Organization for Human Brain Mapping. We exploit multimedia, mixed media, installations, a cross-fertilization of arts and sciences with a goal of fostering insight and connections – within us, with the community and with the habitat. Ours is an art commentary with a twist of unexpected that stimulates mind, emotions, and actions.
My recent thematic work in acrylic/mixed media is also available at https://www.artinus.art/
