Line art
This is the beginning of a new project. That can go anywhere…
‘A line can go anywhere’ was famously pronounced by Ruth Asawa, famed for her organic-looking hanging wire sculptures creaed by crocheting wire line into an unknown. Her work blurred the boundaries between drawing and the wire line forming 3D shapes.
A line can be drawn by pencil, formed by wire or knitted by a fiber thread. It can form shapes, forms, 3D objects…it can go anywhere. It can wrap trees to protect them from cold, it can grow a garden from a barren stone, establish connections through neurographic intersections…line is powerful, a path. Line is not alone, it easily embraces colors and shapes.
No preconceived ideas (except the theme) – we will be tracing our line(s) into unknown. A discovery of sorts.
