I always marveled, incomprehensible for a mortal mind, the age of rocks, layers of time creating beautiful patterns, often glitzy with crystals and metallic shine, and fossils embedded in them.
Elements which the nature is spawn from – metals, granites, water, oxygen – create this visual geological history layered in eons of existence.
Wearing an ancient stone around the neck, endless time embedded in it, becomes a personal continuation of that time.
Then, there is the Fifth Element. Unpredictable, forceful, capricious, womanly, a pure energy. Future, transgalactic…a birth of life in a primordial mix. Unrepeatable elements of our beings, a conduit to infinity…the Fifth element.
Just a little musing while I was making jewelry for our traditional preholiday sharing. There are always so many layers of reflection in each act of creativity.
In the end, it is just jewelry and our joy in making it ..with our own fifth elements…
