Summertime and the livin’…

…is easy

Summertime descended upon us fast, as often is the case with Canadian season transitions…winter blues turns into a short spring bliss when everything grows at ‘5 inches a day rate’ and, in few short weeks, we are settled in full summer; bloom and nature lushness, surprising and abundant.

There is an excitement about travels after a two-year confinement to local outings. Gardens never cease to create a sense of tranquility and summertime lingering in a mood of lazy days drawn in aimless reverence or lake swims in deep, clean, reflective waters.

Summertime and our living is easy…

Yet, workshops are under way…

We started with assembly of Connections installation in a collective joint drawing session – this is the final creative element of this project – all of us connecting in person to spontaneously draw connections of our community.

Start of July we will embark on food art – skill of desert making, decorating and serving. Mmmm, this will be a tasty exercise (pool dips to keep us refreshed).

Special plans for August – joint outing to Almonte to attend a workshop on (garden) sculpture-making using a new technique – paverpal and hardened textiles – this will be a supreme fun. Not to mention hopping through amazing galleries in this sophisticated artistic community (there is also a beautiful garden featuring fields of daylilies blooming in all colors imaginable and displays of local artists).

End of September is a time for pop up gallery (maybe we manage after all to squeeze two giant pours we mulled about last summer).

This is The Plan – we will share photos and ‘products’ of these workshops as they come along – nothing structured, a mix of crafts and collective joy in making them.

To start us off – here is the glimpse of a swim suite reverie – amazing work of the only woman hyper-realist sculptor, Carole A. Feuerman, exhibited at the 2022 Venice Art Biennale. How appropriate for our summer living and dreaming at ease.
