A Year of Hung

Acrylic paintings

Chinese zodiac is a curious assembly of animals – each a symbol of the year to come and our own fate in it. Well, regardless of the Chinese year we live in (2022 is Year of the Tiger), for our Studio, this is a Year of Hung.

Not only because there is a flood of artistic work – from an amazing series of blue acrylic paintings, to poetic alcohol inks and expressive photography. She brought to us neurographics and zentangle that took off as core techniques for our collective ‘Connections‘ project. Not to mention mixed media techniques on which we all thrive.

Equally intriguing as her artwork, is her process of creating it. Usually, the trigger is an artwork she is drawn towards – by examining thoughts and creative processes the creator used, and her own inclinations and reasons for being attracted to it, she creates her own unique ‘style’. Although she claims that her paintings are unplanned, a surprise really, much thought and contemplation happens in the background. This is a Year of Hung, because she surrounds us with thoughtfulness and analysis, spontaneity, calmness and beauty, through both her person and her art. A Year of Hung is a year of philosophical attitude to life and world, contemplative, filled with engaging art, with her recognizable signature of abstract experimentalism.

I am sure, I will be scolded (by her) for putting her in the spotlight like this, but I’ll gladly take it. Here is new series of acrylics emerging from her brushes.
