Jewelry making
Workshop, August 29th
Our third summer workshop was immersed in abundance. Of a lush late summer garden, a house bursting with collections of arts and a profusion of beads, stones, minerals and jewelry-.making ‘everything’, collected with both flair and studiousness over many years by our hostess.
In this overwhelming abundance right brain artists dived in fearlessly, rejoicing in endless possibilities to instantly create; left brainers were more studious but nevertheless embraced ‘on the spot creativity’. We learned jewelry crocheting and wire wrapping techniques and made jewelry from acrylic skins – leftovers from our winter pouring bliss.
Each new jewelry piece is an excitement! Sharing this excitement with friends as these original pieces emerge is priceless!
We are immensely lucky and grateful for this abundance of material possessions and comforts that life granted to us. But it only becomes meaningful when shared, through generosity, hospitality, passing on skills to others and mutual support. We jointly learned and discovered a lot – and created some wonderful and artistic jewelry along the way, gifting generously.
Here is the preview of our third catalogue. It will no doubt grow much thicker as we prepare for the next workshop and gifting seasons almost upon us.
