Magnified

Photography

What we don’t see does not exist? Far from the sight, far from the heart?

We need to magnify to see fascinating worlds that do EXIST despite our oblivion. Whether we use telescopes to bring to our sight the most magnificent enormous worlds from the outer space, or microscopes to illuminate tinny organic worlds of cells and viruses, or even tinnier atomic chaos that makes us and everything else, these different worlds emerge as fascinating and as artistic as those we can perceive by the naked eye.

Many of us are scientists – we use microscopes daily to analyze and discover deep connections within and among these worlds. But, while we do that, our right brains flare up and imagination triggered by the unexpected visual apparitions goes wild. And, we yearn to capture these images and sensations not only for pure scientific analyses, but also for their virgin artistic value.

The world is a wonder! Micro- and macro-worlds not only reveal things our eyes miss daily, but also common laws of nature that underlie all matter and beings; dendrites and spirals appear in galaxies, DNA and neurons alike.

In this session we captured some wonders of micro worlds through magnifying lenses of microscopes and tele-lenses of cameras. The results are stunning and evocative images; we do not need to know what they actually are – just enjoy their abstract or real beauty.
