Winter is Here

The Canadian winter is harsh and long…most of the time prohibitive for meaningful outdoor activities. Shovelings the snow, quick skate. Pandemic made it even less bearable. We all brood over Game of Thrones’ winter wastelands and ice wall.  The lonely comforts of our homes are all that is left… Or are they?

There is no end of ways to embrace the winter.  Magic snowfalls, unexpected landscapes for keen photographers, northern lights…Some like to get warm and fuzzy beside crackling fire in the hearth – hence, they embark on wool arts and crafts to bring winter spirit closer to our (artistic) hearts.

Others invigorate the community’s togetherness in coping – beautiful ice ornaments hung along walking paths in a community park.  This may as well be one of the most inspirational winter projects from our group! It went viral!  After seeing it in our Friday’s presentation, we all rushed to make our own ornaments during the weekend, hanging them around and passing the idea to our own circle of friends!

Who says winter is not warm (and artistic)!
